What rank are you applying for?: OfC

Questions:

Why are you applying for this position?:

I have 2 answers for this, one that is in character the other out of character:

- The IC reason being that I frimly believe XRAY 88 has been operating and maintaining coheasion as best he can. From leading PTs, holding hardpoints, training I-4s and I-3s when needed, issuing charges and so on. Attempting to achieve a promotion to OfC would be his next logical goal.

- The OOC reasoning being I would highly enjoy being an OfC who would be as active as possible and try my best to keep as much order as I can among the CP ranks of I-4 to I-1 units. In addition to this I have been playing an I-1 comfortably for a good long while now, upon reaching 9000+ XP I kinda realized that we have plenty of I-1s if not a surplus of them and I actually want to try being of more consequence and use.

Why should we choose you over other applicants?:

I have been playing both Civil Protection and Overwatch Trans-Human Arm fairly frequently considering I also frquent my various other characters of other factions (Citizen, Vort, Zombie, CWU and CA).
I do admit my brain blanks on me once or twice forgetting a radio code BUT to remedy this I always keep open the OTA and CP code handbook open on my phone whenever I need to refresh my memory on their meanings. But with more experience as an OFC will come with a more solidified memory of the codes.

What prior experience do you have in leadership positions? (Doesn’t have to specifically be HL2RP):

As stated in my previous CA application posted and approved several weeks ago. I have prior experience as a CP of rank 75 on a previous HL2 server that was far more hardened and serious and required a whitelist to be the lowest rank of CP. At the time of that server I never went for a rank above 100 because I had confidence issues during my teenage years and felt I wouldn't cut it.

However that is no longer the case, as I have held a CA position both here and on two other servers, I am leader of a group in this server known as P.S.L (Phoenix Science Labs), I have been an OTA EOW and I-1 for a vast period of time and held such positions steadfast only reciving one warning from staff as an I-3 back in D47, IRL I previously held a job as head of writting staff for a youtube channel that still exsists but is no longer active in producing new content.

What kind of activity can we expect to see from you?:

I attempt to be active on the server daily for as long as I can manage, I do have engagements IRL which means my activity may not be as high on Thursdays and Saturdays but if I can squeeze in some server time I will.

Should anything important come up I will announce it as soon as I can in the CMB discord so all are made aware why I am nowhere to be seen or heard from, provided I can even make said announcement.

Do you have a working microphone?:

Yes, but I only use it when required and in situations that do not require it I use text instead. This is only to lower on server noise pollution but if I need my microphone I will use it. So in summary yes I do but it is not in constant use.

Scenarios:

You’re in the Nexus and an i4 comes up screaming in your face and insulting you. What would you do in that situation?:

A seemingly simple situation but one with two approaches. An IC approach and an OOC approach:

- IC the I-4 unit should be at first scolded, corrected and ordered to stand by for training in coheasive behaviour before deployment once handled the I-4 should be sent along on their way if they prove to be satifactory. This said if the unit does not show signs of adhearing to orders harsher punishment may be required however if the I-4 persists then de-servicement would be the best IC method of handling the situation as a final resort.

- OOC the I-4 unit should be asked to stop if this is purely an OOC situation for example screaming over microphone about things that insult me as a person not my character if they persist or get worse then there are two ways forward which would be de-servicement from CP (with auth to do so) or to get staff involved if the situation is especially agressive on the I-4s part.

An i3 is being non-cohesive on the radio, saying things like “idk lol” or “dude I just killed that citizen lmao”. How would you respond?:

Over the radio call for the I-3 unit's tagline and request they "TAGLINE I-3 suspend, maintain coheasive radio communications." Should the I-3 ignore the request I would repeat with a warning "TAGLINE I-3 suspend. Second Warning."

(Important note all radio lines from myself would be adjusted to avoid triggering as many CP VC lines as possible.)

Finally if the unit carrys on they will be given their third and final warning, referring to unit de-servicment as a threat should they continue. This should be a sufficient warning and threat that will make them cease. If not they will be ordered to report to nexus and be given a punishment. Such as a smack with an inactive stunstick and verbal scolding followed by orders to stand by for training until being permitted to return 10-8, interlock and patrol.

Should they attempt to pull their standard issue I-3 USP pistol, and / or agressivly argue back with threats of death. The I-3 will be amputated and deserviced PURELY and ONLY in self defence and self preservation.

During a patrol an i4 arrests someone for the incorrect charges. They don't seem to know what they're doing very well. How would you correct them?:

Take the I-4 to one side inside the nexus and offer a helping hand in showing them the ropes of being a CP. I'd first issue a warning about issuing incorrect charges for the sake of IC purposes.

The rest of the training and teaching would be handled lightly, patiently and kindly OOC. All while maintaining attention to the radio chatter and bio signal losses if in the event I need to pause things and step in for the other units when required.

You’re a DcO and an OfC loses his temper and deservices a unit for a minor infraction, which is against our rules. How would you punish the OfC?:

While I am not attempting for the rank of DcO I will attempt this question to the best of my abilities. First I'd adress the matter OOC and say that the de-servicement wasn't necessary and radio in a 10-22 on the de-servicement. I'd then see about boiding the de-servicement of said unit.

Then move back to IC and take the OfC aside for a verbal warning, a verbal scolding to the equivilant of a drill sergeant. Informing the OfC that they are meant to be among the best of Civil Protection and are held to a higher standard just as I am and all ranks above him or her. Furthermore I'd see to it they understand their fault, correct it and do not repeat it on threat of myself personally administering their de-servicement. With a smack or two from a de-active stunstick to drive home the IC threat.

After the tongue lashing and punishment I'd proceed to check they also understood OOC but be a little more understanding and diplomatic, afterall we're all human and we all get angry even sometimes when we shouldn't. After checking if they'd cooled off and had a level head or not OOC I'd suggest taking a short break from CP for a bit just to calm down and hopefully take it easy if they were still a bit ticked off if not I'd send them on their way and wish them luck and a to have a better time. Once done I'd return IC and move to 10-8 either interlocking or creating a PT as required.

You're leading a PT in RDC and hear a beep nearby followed by citizens shouting in code to each other. What do you order your PT to do and what are your next steps?:

Proceed by immediately ordering my units into cover. IC for all we know that beep could be an explosive. Then follow up by radioing in as quickly as possible "CODE 2 at RDC, 10-0 possible organised AC activity." Afterwards my PT would be ordered to lock and watch EVERY angle they can, myself included.

In the event we start taking fire I'd order supressing fire only until other CPs can arrive and give assistance I'd follow up by taking cover using F6 and call in an 11-99, possibly radioing in a 10-52 in the event any of the PT took some hits which is highly likely. Should things get worse at the RDC I would remain in cover and radio in both a call for unrest, (If not already in place), and a CODE 3 at RDC.

A Necrotic outbreak is discovered by your PT and signs show it may already be out of containment of the area, what is your immediate response?:

Request that my PT provide cover while I radio in the following message: "All PTs 10-0 potential mass Necrotic outbreak. Remain interlocked and patrol, Sterilize all Necrotic and Parasite contacts and report."

From that point on I would take lead with my PT to do as I had just radioed in, that being to sterilize all Necrotics and Parasites in the immediate 10-20. If multiple PTs radio in that numbers for the Necrotic outbreak are indeed mass as suspected I will call in on radio and shift to unrest code (if it isn't already set).

Which would not only be placing the city on alert and have OTA on stand by if in the event Anti-Citizens use the chaos to launch their own offence or the Necrotic outbreak reaches unpresidented levels and RL's determine a Judgement Waiver is required, the unrest code would also grant Civil Protection teams better equipment to handle the outbreak.
