Hello all. Let me begin by saying, yes, this is an actual suggestion, and it makes sense on a naming scheme level.
To begin, impulse, and by extension, Solaris, has used "OfC" to relate to the first Commissioned Officer rank on Civil Protection.
(We're not counting SqL and OfC being the same rank just renamed on OG impulse.)
It's in the lifeblood of the framework.
However, as time goes on, and more servers adapt, it becomes increasingly evident that OfC makes.. Frankly.. No sense.
All Civil Protection ranks are technically "Officers," they just hold different distinctions.
i4-i1 are probationary -> non-commissioned officers.
Squad Leaders lead squads.
Divisional Leaders are in charge of divisions.
District Control Officers run the districts and precincts of the city.
The Commander oversees the entire city.
They are all "officers" to an extent, with only DcO having the actual title of "Officer."
But what does an OfC Officer do? They just act as the first whitelisted gap between i1 and SqL.
Would it not make more sense for them to be RANK LEADERS as opposed to OFFICERS?
Rank Leader flows into Squadron Leader, which flows into Divisional Leader.
RL > SqL > DvL.
It flows a lot better in the naming scheme than:
OfC > SqL > DvL.
Thus, I believe that OfC should instead become RL, to better fit the naming scheme of the whitelisted "Leaders."
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
