What rank are you applying for?: OfC
Questions
Why are you applying for this position?: I seek to take an active role in shaping and supervising new units, ensuring that procedural and operational standards are enforced at all times. By exercising direct leadership and maintaining tight unit control, I will cultivate discipline, coordination, and clear command communication. I will enforce routine PT deployments and defensive measures to secure key areas, and suppress anti-civil actions. Additionally, I intend to rigorously train and condition our jury units to improve their effectiveness, with a strong focus on proper interrogation techniques and correct crime scene establishment.
Why should we choose you over other applicants?: I have a clear understanding of the core needs of the Civil Protection faction: discipline, and strict adherence to the chain of command, while still exercising initiative when necessary.
What prior experience do you have in leadership positions? (Doesn’t have to specifically be HL2RP): I have held multiple leadership positions, primarily on military RP servers. In addition, I have led a faction in a completely different game, giving me experience managing teams across varied environments.
What kind of activity can we expect to see from you?: 4 days a week
Do you have a working microphone?: Yes
Scenarios
You’re in the Nexus and an i4 comes up screaming in your face and insulting you. What would you do in that situation?: Since the individual is clearly acting in a disruptive manner, I would first issue a direct verbal warning and demand that the behavior cease immediately. If the unit continues to scream or misbehave, I would clearly state that deservicement will follow. Should the behavior persist, I would proceed with deservicing the unit. If the unit complies after the initial warning, I would continue to monitor them closely to ensure the behavior does not recur.
An i3 is being non-cohesive on the radio, saying things like “idk lol” or “dude I just killed that citizen lmao”. How would you respond?: I would instruct the i3 to immediately stop all unnecessary radio communications. Should the behavior continue, I would address the unit privately, issuing a verbal warning and explaining that further misconduct may lead to deservicement. After the warning, the unit would return to their assigned PT duties under close observation.
During a patrol an i4 arrests someone for the incorrect charges. They don't seem to know what they're doing very well. How would you correct them?: I would privately address the i4, outlining the errors they made, identifying the incorrect charges, and explaining the proper way to handle the situation. Given that the unit is still new, I would strike a balance between firmness and guidance, ensuring accountability without being overly harsh. The goal would be to correct their mistakes and improve performance, while making it clear that repeated errors could lead to more serious consequences, such as re-education or, in extreme cases, deservicement.
You’re a DcO and an OfC loses his temper and deservices a unit for a minor infraction, which is against our rules. How would you punish the OfC?: I would privately address the OfC, issuing a clear verbal warning and explaining the nature of their misconduct, emphasizing that such behavior could lead to demotion or harsher penalties. I would immediately escalate the issue to the CmD
You're leading a PT in RDC and hear a beep nearby followed by citizens shouting in code to each other. What do you order your PT to do and what are your next steps?: I would instruct my PT to immediately secure the RDC, ensuring all citizens inside are contained. We would perform a thorough search for any contraband, confiscating all illegal items. Nearby units and other PTs would be alerted to maintain 10‑0 status while my team and I conduct interrogations. Any further coded communication would result in instant detainment, and citizens caught with contraband would be prosecuted. After all arrests are completed and the area is fully secured, remaining citizens would be released, and normal patrol duties would resume.
A Necrotic outbreak is discovered by your PT and signs show it may already be out of containment of the area, what is your immediate response?: I would immediately broadcast the outbreak over the radio and request assistance from all available units, while warning the OTA to stay alert for any Necrotics visible from the Nexus. My PT, along with responding units, would evacuate all civilians from the affected area. I would then direct all units to exterminate any Necrotics and Parasitics encountered. Once civilians are secured, a thorough sweep would be conducted to remove any remaining threats. After confirming that the outbreak has been fully contained and all Necrotics eliminated, I would order a final check of the area before allowing citizens to return safely.
