So currently in Washington and Russia there the structure upgrade/combine thing. combine 2 metal walls to make a t2 wall, 2 t2 walls for a t3 wall and 2t3 walls for a t4 wall. currently there is not combination for pillars which is a big downside. Mainly because of splash damage. Currently without an armored pillar a raider can just easily destroy it with a single precision charge, while the rest of the armored bits take 8. Basically, making everything connected to that pillar easier to raid due to splash. Picture this, there's a 2x1 fully t4 base with normal pillars, all you got to do is spend 1 charged on that pillar, place 8 more where that pillar was and you will destroy everything in the surrounding area. When including the roofs and the surrounding walls you would be spending 8 charges destroy what should be 32-40 charges. By just adding an armored pillar variant it would make building with the tier structures more worthwhile.
