I mean i guess limiting their distance and brightness would be a good idea but not deleting them in their entierly as they are the only light sources that give off a natural look because normal lamps light bugs out alot on the textures and just looks terrific i never seen anyone complain about lamp lag until now

i mean normal lights not lamps in that lower part

This open game issue is the reason lamps were restricted: https://github.com/Facepunch/garrysmod-issues/issues/5818

We're planning on adding craftable lamps that you can place. These will have a similar set of models and we'll be able to implement the lamps in a way that doesn't drop client FPS. Regular lights through the Light Tool are still allowed for all players

how long is that gonna take tho, as i kinda used those alot in my dupes and they are all pretty much fucked (especially my weed farm dupe)
 
also like i said with the normal lights that are allowed they just do not work at all

Yeah that issue started after a certain Garry's Mod update.
how long is that gonna take tho, as i kinda used those alot in my dupes and they are all pretty much fucked (especially my weed farm dupe)
We may be able to unrestrict the lamp tool for the time being if we can add some constraints on some of the settings. Main FPS drops seem to be when certain FOV, brightness, and distance settings are used on the lamps. Adding limits to those could solve the issue
 
You can use this setting to fix the regular lights and make the draw on non-props too: r_dynamic 1

Or: F1 -> Settings -> Performance -> Dynamic light rendering enabled

alr also a big fix could be an option to limit lighting render distance for people if they want to ofc so most lamps wont actually load for them unless they walk up close
