Melee weapons show on your back when equipped
Something as big as an axe should not be easy to hide, perhaps we could even make it so the moment you have one of those in your inventory (not even equipped yet) it immediately shows it on your character.
(I know we don't have a pipe melee weapon but I thought it looked cool so I added it to the screenshots, could be an additional melee weapon in the future perhaps?)

CWU Rework
1. New way to switch in-between CWU jobs
Right now, the only way you can switch between Industrial Worker, Commercial Worker, and Medical Worker, is through the teams menu, requiring you hold C or TAB and select it.
I think we should minimize the use of menus like these for the sake of immersion, instead, you would have to go and register to the Civil Workers Union Terminal (or NPC?) and there you would also be able to switch in-between the available jobs.

2. New CWU jobs requirements
At the moment, the only requirement for becoming a specific job in the CWU is XP.
XP is entirely out-of-character and shouldn't be something that blocks the player in-character.
Ever had a conversation with someone, that they wish to become a certain role/rank/whatever but it is locked behind an XP requirement?
Here is a chat that has happened thousands of times on every impulse server:
(These are just random names lol)
John Doe says: "Become commercial worker."
Mark Smith says: "I can't."
John Doe says: "Why?"
[LOOC] hl2player1984 (Mark Smith): I need more xp
And there we go, a classic impulse moment. A person wants to roleplay as a certain class, and they are blocked by an out-of-character problem: Their server playtime.
My suggestion to this is: Instead of having an XP requirement, the player would need to have an in-character requirement.
Perhaps work at the laundry factory for an hour?
Or, reach a specific amount of loyalty points. (Something that could come in with the Loyalist Update perhaps?)
Who knows what else, these are just ideas, food for thought.
The impulse XP problem, in general
I think we should remove XP entirely or at least minimize its usage. We should prioritize in-character interactions and such rather than a an out-of-character "server XP". What I've mentioned for CWU above could also apply for CP/OTA in a way.
In addition to that, once you reach 2100XP it becomes completely useless. Unless you want to show off the hours you've spent on the server.... Hours wasted that you will never get back :skull
