What rank are you applying for?: OfC
Questions
Why are you applying for this position?:
I believe that, given my experience, current motivation, and activity, I am well-suited for supervising CP members. I am confident in effectively leading PT's, strategizing, and teaching them the ropes of the job. I am willing to ensure that they are familiar with the basic 10-codes and give them the best chance at rank advancement and job cohesion. There is currently a lack of active advisory units during early and mid-day hours other than the CmD and some notable OfC's. There are things that need to be improved on, and I am willing to take part in this change.
Why should we choose you over other applicants?:
I have a decorated background in supervisory and command ranks within HL2RP outside of Garry's Mod aswell as inside. I produce a fun and inclusive environment for others, while being able to keep the rules enforced and not let it get out of hand. I am active every day of the week, available 24/7 on weekends, and mostly around noon to midnight on weekdays. I can contribute maximum activity daily and consistently. I do not pick and choose favorites or bias, and I hear out both sides of a story when it comes to resolving problems. I also do not take crap from disrespectful units and will not hesitate to deservice or scold someone for a critical mistake that could have endangered others or themselves to help them learn. I will show pure dedication to this force.
What prior experience do you have in leadership positions? (Doesn’t have to be HL2RP specifically):
I have contributed to becoming an OfC on Impulse, and even was granted a whitelist for Vice. Being in Vice as an OfC before their group ultimately shut down led to some experiences in serious and more lighthearted scenarios. I have reached Overwatch Commander in many groups, such as Landis, and while this is irrelevant to Civil Protection, it demonstrates my ability to lead is well-qualified. On non-Garry's Mod platform HL2RPs, I have achieved DvL, SqL, and multiple officer/command positions multiple times within serious roleplay groups. I also have years of experience in the Halo genre and transferred to HL2, so I have been around.
What kind of activity can we expect to see from you?: Constant. I am devoted to any server I play on, and my activity shows it. I will be on for 8 hours or more on weekends and around 5 on weekdays; consistency every day is the key. My timezone is CST.
Do you have a working microphone?: Yes.
Scenarios
You’re in the Nexus, and an i4 comes up screaming in your face and insulting you. What would you do in that situation?: I would politely ask the I4 to control themselves, explain their issue with me, and talk about it like mature individuals. If they proceed to continue their barrage of insults and vulgar comments, I will deservice them for insubordination and announce over TAC-1 that it is to be disregarded. I would grab their Steam ID and log the incident in case it happens in the future.
An i3 is being non-cohesive on the radio, saying things like “idk lol” or “dude I just killed that citizen lmao”. How would you respond?: I would remind them that Tac-1 is for vital information being communicated between divisions and forces throughout the city, and is not to be used for OOC chats. I would ask them to please use LOOC or OOC and, in turn, refrain from using TAC-1 for comments like that. If they do not listen and continue to spew nonsense, I would locate them and provide a verbal in-person warning. If they show no care, I would deservice them.
During a patrol, an I4 arrests someone for the incorrect charges. They don't seem to know what they're doing very well. How would you correct them?: I would assess the situation, including previous knowledge and what happened before the arrest. After figuring out what the I4 saw them doing, and what crime was committed, I would correct their choices and tell them why it was wrong. I will not be mad at them, I will help them learn and be better at doing their job in the future, aswell as ensuring citizens are not arrested for false charges in the future.
You’re a DcO, and an OfC loses his temper and deservices a unit for a minor infraction, which is against our rules. How would you punish the OfC?: I would grab the OfC and take him into an isolated room, aswell as the unit he deserviced. I would figure out why this unit was deserviced, why the OfC chose this punishment, if the unit has repeated the infraction, and if the OfC has deserviced this unit before. I would take this to my CmD, and inform him of the incident going on and how I am handling it, and if he would like to input anything. I would also discuss this with the DvL, and together we will come to a conclusion of his punishment, based on the severity, and his willingness to learn from mistakes and control his temper. If he shows immaturity and the possibility of continuing his abusive authority, I would announce the deservicement of the Officer and remove him from his rank due to immaturity and the inability to fulfill his roles adequately.
You're leading a PT in RDC and hear a beep nearby followed by citizens shouting in code to each other. What do you order your PT to do, and what are your next steps?: I would order a double time stack of 2 each to split and flank the audible chatter. Upon breach, we would search and investigate the immediate area of the beep. If there is no IED present, secure and detain the citizens and interrogate them on what their codes mean and what the beeping was. I would ask Jury to help, and decide if they deserve a charge for their false alarm. Now, if the IED WAS present during the sweep, that means the situation has turned into a Code-10. I would order an immediate ripcord with my PT to find cover and a position a safe distance away from the IED. Proceed to arrest citizens and put all units available on high alert via TAC-1 to watch out for an explosive device.
A Necrotic outbreak is discovered by your PT, and signs show it may already be out of containment of the area. What is your immediate response?: I would order my PT to take a defensive position on our current 10-20, and I would proceed with radioing Overwatch about the necrotics. I would wait for their instructions on whether this is a situation for them or for us to handle, and if it is clear for us to proceed, we would move up slowly. If nothing is found, I inform all available PT's to go code 2 and search the sector for necrotics. I would set up a stronghold of Civil Protection to ensure the possible necrotics are enclosed and cannot leave or enter. If we sterilize all present necrotics, I would radio the outbreak to be secured. If we get overrun, I would radio for backup Code-3 to our 10-20.
