Hello everyone!
Thanks for taking the time to check out our HL2:RP server. Many servers have used this framework in the past, and each had opinions on how their server should function from a gameplay and management perspective. We learned much about prior servers from our community members during the launch and through our own experiences playing in the space. With these contexts in mind, we wanted to create a vision statement to clarify how we would like to form our HL2RP server over time. We want to ensure that everyone who plays on our server understands our motivation behind future development updates and events.
Our primary aim for our HL2RP server isn't just to copy the original Impulse server but rather to build upon its foundation. After achieving stability akin to the classic Impulse server, we intend to introduce updates with features aimed at enriching gameplay and roleplay across the board. These updates will draw from the original Impulse roadmap and incorporate our own ideas that we believe complement the game mode. We also may add more features that expand PVP in the future, however we will keep PVP additions to a necessary minimum so roleplay takes centerstage in our community. On the subject of server events, we believe in a healthy mix of engaging passive and active RP situations. In due time, we will organize an event team to bring special moments to players individually.
From a moderation perspective, the Astronet community aims to have a professional staff team that appropriately enforces community rules across all our services. We want to limit as many cumbersome interactions with staff members as possible while still being attentive to in-game activities. Generally, we want to be firm but fair with rules enforcement and give chances towards honest mistakes.
