Opinions on CA Job

Hey guys,

I want your opinions on a specific subject. How would you like a whitelisted CA job? We want to add more relevance to the CA and bring more RP to our server, and we're wondering if you guys would like a CA whitelist. A CA whitelist would make the server feel more "consistent" when there are a couple of central heads of the City in the civic sense. If we had only a few CAs, it would give players a chance to roleplay effectively and set the tone of the server for the blue suits. Should we have minister jobs? Let me hear what you think!

This is a recurring issue, a lot of people who "roleplay" as the CA don't take their role seriously, breaking the immersion of many players. The amount of time I've seen FailRP broadcasts among different servers is insane. A lot of people just see the CA role as another way to minge around all while receiving the best ration in the server. So yeah I think it's a good idea.

However, I think that whitelisting the CA is something that should be done later when the server has a bigger playerbase, because locking the CA role behind a whitelist while there is around 10 people online for most of the time is just going to prevent any roleplay from it while it's already at its minimal.

Lets say you receive 3 applications for the role, considering the little playerbase we have at the moment: You accept 2 out of the the 3 apps, whatsoever the reason, that makes it 2 people who can roleplay as a CA on the server, now obviously these people won't be on CA 24/7 since they won't always be online or just playing as another faction, so that leaves the CA role completely empty for most of the time, preventing any potential roleplay from it.

Should we have minister jobs?
In my opinion, anything that can promote roleplay should be considered. If you manage to have experienced players who truly love their role as Ministers, it can only be beneficial.

I think there should be some with whitelist and a basic role that doesn't require a whitelist.

I picture CA something with a couple of roles.

1st off there is the higher administrators of the city that regulate the faction as a hole

Then we would have maybe some intelligence operators, permit control (make permits for stores axes to work for wood pickaxe to work for metal...).

Im not really into this faction and dont know a lot about it but I think you get my point so citizens feel like they have to follow this things to stay in the city and earn some credits/materials.

Personally I think for government RP you have Ministries responsible for different areas of the city e.g. Procurement, Finance, CWU etc, etc and they work together or don't work together but you would have two ministry's one for Citizens (often representing rebel views), one for combine interests

This would make intelligence gathering possible/easier (kidnapping etc), allow rebels to change city rules in their favour etc

Example of this, Civil and CP ministers have a grudge the procurement minister owes a favour to the civil minster so the civil minister for example removes the ability to get riot helmets

I think we should expand the civil administration in general yes. I think the CA should be a separate entity from Breen, a specific administrator/governor for this city, and like Seqel and Cheeki talked about: ministers for civil appropriations. This of course is all my opinion but we should avoid bloat. Other servers have too many Civil Administration jobs that then make the faction redundant and boring, each individual in City Administration should be important in their respective areas; of course some more important than others.

I also agree maybe the server should be more populated but at the same time it is abused right now with barely any beneficial RP added. I have done letter readings along with others, but we should have lowers within administration that are necessary for day to day activities like permits or such. I also believe, like said above, they should have power to actually make civil changes like Breen does and therefore should most likely be whitelisted to players who are committed.

It’s a double edged sword to me and perhaps there are more knowledgeable individuals that could easily refute my points due to my experience with impulse civil administration, but I believe it should be expanded upon at some point.
