Vortigaunt Suggestions Megathread
These are ideas and such I have for Vortigaunts, the most overlooked faction in any Semi-Serious HL2RP
Suggestion #1:
Collar + Shackle Re-Equip Item
Vortigaunts, once lockpicked, have never had the chance to go back into the city. They become lame ducks in the Combine's march to global domination.My suggestion:
Add an item that allows Vortigaunts to re-equip their shackles and collar. It will be a one-time consumable; after that, it must be lockpicked to remove the collar and shackles again.
Suggestion #2:
Wasteriver Immunity
Vortigaunts are not from Earth; they are from Xen, and thus, have been exposed to the gross water now present in Earth's canal systems.I find it fitting, much akin to headcrabs currently, that Vortigaunts should not take damage from the nasty canal water. Minor change, but it makes sense given the Vortigaunts we see in HL2.
Suggestion #3:
Vortal Vision
Vortigaunts, once again, have physiology differing from that of humans. They are natural predators, lurking in the dark, taking on prey.When using the Flashlight (F) as a Vortigaunt, I think it would be neat to get a sort of "Vortal Vision" like the Headcrabs have, where the screen perhaps goes a greenish-yellow, allowing Vortigaunts to better see in the dark.
Suggestion #4:
A-O-E Attack + Damage Boost
The Vortigaunt's beam, as is, is far far underpowered for the risk imposed. As a compromise, I suggest adding an AOE to the attack, allowing the area around the beam to also inflict damage. This would make using the Vortigaunt's beam actually viable in combat, and allows the Vortigaunt to stand its own, especially against NPCs.These are my current suggestions; I will add more as seen fit, and when ideas arise.
