Needs More Support Weapon Base Change

Thanks for your suggestion. Would you mind going into more detail on the problems you think our framework has? :samuel:
I've read that the server uses both TFA and longsword, which is not ideal. Because of that, It's probably because of custom TFA guns being not so easy to do. I'm unsure though, as I've never actually seen how TFA really works. The weapon bases I mentioned provide easy customizability. It's really easy to understand/learn as it's pretty much the same as making a SWEP on GMod, just with way more capabilities and functions. I've also read in the Helix discord that TFA has dependencies to specifically cause lag on RP frameworks, but I don't know if that's 100% true. I wouldn't take chances. With that being said the performance could likely be better, and the weapon models can also stay because only the models are needed, not the base.

TL;DR
Longsword/Plutonic provides way more customizability with ease, longsword is classic though Plutonic has great effects, and a smooth viewbob. It's also better to choose one base instead of mix and matching longsword and TFA. With that there is a possibility of better performance, and the weapon models can stay the same as all the weapon bases need is the view/worldmodels

i would like to mention the tfa lag does exist and from what i heard theres a system to stop it i have tested and seen alot of invalid shots on the server which has lost me alotta gear in what i consider unfair losses from 3 hits or even one hit from a high damage gun just not counting

How would everyone feel if we were to switch to ArcCW instead?
aslong as theres a way to keep the current recoil system id love it

Bumping so I can get a clear understanding of what the community wants.
Please feel free to drop your opinion.

It kind of defeats the purpose of my suggestion, keeping it custom to something like Longsword 2.0 would again, provide more customizability. You can edit the viewmodel, recoil, attachments, etc. ArcCW may be more limited as it's an addon and not an open source thing. I'd say something like Longsword 2.0, or again - Plutonic. Plutonic may need editing though as the recent versions are a bit weird.

Call me the necromancer, cause im bringing this shit back from the dead.

Just putting my two cents here but just because the longsword base is a staple, dosent nessesairy mean people haven't gotten tired of it.

You want a largely customizable weapon base that works good on multiplayer?

Might be a bit of an odd take but what about TACRP weapons? The weapons are rarity sorted by default with high rarity weapons having (in general, its a weapon by weapon basis) better damage, accuracy, and mobility with lower rarity weapons having (in general) lower damage, and the worst rarity ones can even jam. And alot of the weapons the combine use are high rarity- although you guys would have to make your own AR2.

One thing to keep note of is that the guns (by default, it can be changed) has very high headshot multiplyers, and they interact with armor in their own way (the weapons- especially rifle caliber ones have good armor pen and armor only increases their shots to kill by 1-3.)

As someone who likes people dying when i shoot then in the head with a fucking 308 round, this works fine for me, but since you guys seem to want to keep things spongy, you can easily adjust things to suit your needs.

I get that this is probably not gonna get added but i figured id atleast make my preference known.

We can talk about any future changes to the weapons base, but we must recognize that, historically speaking, people on every impulse server have constantly advocated for weapons base changes. It'll always be hard to satisfy the desires of every person on this matter since we can only have it "one way or another". While mounting the actual base isn't too difficult by itself, it's adjusting all of our current content and ensuring the base works with the rest of the game.
